Flemington: Race 4, No.4 - I Am VelvetNice win as favourite at Sandown first-up. Won second-up last prep and is building a very nice resume. Will jump and lead again here in a race devoid of speed. $3.50.
Randwick: Race 2, No.3 - GunroomIssues post race first up so forgive. Will hunt through to lead today from a low draw. $5 is overs.
Moe: Race 2, No.13 - AmanoahHas been good both starts this prep. Stays at the mile today, is third-up fit and maps to get a beautiful run. $2.10 is short enough.
Gosford: Race 4, No.5 - King's SecretMy best in the country today. This gelding has plenty of potential. Two good runs first prep. This isn't a strong maiden. Should bolt in $2.30.
Balaklava: Race 1, No.3 - Extremely WickedFirst-up for new stable, won a trial by daylight. Should break the maiden today at $1.80.
Sam Hyland
Flemington: Race 6, No.7 - American Wolf is bred to go a couple of laps and looks well placed in this gazumpathon. He was a good winner last time out & will be improved from that effort, he is a good tough, hardy sort.
Randwick-Kensington: Race 2, No.5 - Māori Chief has shown ability & been competitive in better maidens than this, he will be strong at the end & can win.
Sunshine Coast: Race 2, No.1 - San Jose Boy will be winning again, I think he will be a fan of a wet deck & he is a nice stayer that has delivered for us before, he will win.
Balaklava: Race 4, No.12 - So Polite has very good manners & made good improvement from the first run to the second, up to 1200 will ensure this horse travels better & will knock this over.
Darwin: Race 2, No.5 - Royal Signal is yet to win this preparation but looks a good hope in this, with a good run she can win.
