Big day of racing at Eagle Farm this afternoon with The Gateway our feature, there’s a free ticket into next year’s Group 1 Stradbroke for the winning connections, so definitely ‘all to play for’!
The track has been posted a Soft (5) this morning however it’s a warm one, I’d expect an upgrade to Good sooner rather than later. First of 10 races get under way at 12.13pm local time.

RACE 2 # 8 EL PENSADOR
I keep on tipping this one & he keeps on running good races however just can’t seem to get the win he deserves. Thought his effort at Doomben last start was very good closing from near last to run down all bar the winner in quick time. They did run along early which helped his cause however that also suggests the step to 1800m will be ideal.
RACE 4 # 14 TEN TRINITY SQUARE
Super keen to see this unbeaten galloper make his metro debut this afternoon. All 3 starts/wins have come on his home Toowoomba circuit & all have been dominant starting with a demolition of his rivals on New Years Day. Obviously being a lightly raced 5yo he’s had some issues along the way however he looks to have a real turn of foot & a very bright future.
RACE 8 # 11 SHALAA’S MOMENT
Super consistent mare who resumed at the Sunshine Coast last start when too strong for her rivals over the concluding stages. She never seems to put in a sub-par effort, holds a good record here on her home track & should the track be dry or wet it won’t make an ounce of difference to her.
Suggest RACE 5 # 3 CIGAR FLICK & RACE 7 # 2 TRANSATLANTIC both very well placed to win however are too short this morning to make ‘specials’.
