SEN Track: Canberra Best Bets – December 6, 2024
Robbie Ringland • December 6th, 2024 10:35 am

The first of two back-to-back Christmas Party race days, this Friday at Thoroughbred Park is shaping as a cracking card with a number of big fields.
There’s been some rain around but with the hot weather and track in wonderful condition, we’ll likely start in the Soft range without any more rain.
Best Bets
Race 6 #3 Devine Miss
Norm Gardner’s mare Devine Miss is at her best when fresh and she loves racing at home. She gets both ticks tomorrow.
She’s been racing ultra consistently and the four-week let up looks the perfect set up for this TAB Federal.
A daughter of Headwater, she’ll appreciate the sting out of the ground and with a soft draw under Louise Day, we’ll be hoping she’s not too far off them in running.
There’s enough speed to get her involved and I think she’ll beat them in the last 50m.
Race 7 #2 Flying Impala
Flying Impala gets back to his favourite track this Friday when he takes on what is a high-quality group of Class 2 horses.
Trained by Mary Bray, this son of Flying Artie comes out of a strong TAB Highway where he did the hard work leading them up in a part of the track that proved to be quicksand as the day went on.
I can forgive him for finishing 14th that day, and there’s been a big push for him already.
Apprentice Glenn Cahill takes 3kg off him and he won’t have to make any decisions from the wide gate, besides how far to be leading by at the turn. I think he can lead and make every post a winner.
Matthew Dale’s Adolphus looks the danger.
