Huge names to drive refreshed SEN 1170am for 2026
SEN 1170am will launch an exciting new year of sport‑led programming from next week, offering Sydney fans a refreshed, high‑energy schedule featuring some of rugby league’s most respected voices alongside fresh talent joining the station for the first time.
Kicking off the new year is the station’s brand‑new breakfast show, Kick Off with Brandy & Jimmy, with Greg ‘Brandy’ Alexander and Jimmy Smith teaming up from Monday to Thursday to deliver a dynamic, informed and entertaining start to the day. Their chemistry, deep knowledge, and connection with Sydney’s sporting audience form the centrepiece of SEN’s refreshed morning offering.
On Fridays, breakfast takes on a new flavour, with NRL Premiership‑winner, Chad Townsend, joining Jimmy Smith for a fresh end‑of‑week perspective. Townsend, who retired from professional rugby league at the end of the 2025 season, brings current‑player insight, a premiership résumé and a sharp understanding of the modern game.
Mornings on SEN 1170am will be anchored by Andrew Voss from February 12, with The Front Office with Vossy airing from Monday to Wednesday. Thursdays will feature Vossy’s Verdict, delivering intelligent analysis and strong opinion from one of rugby league’s most trusted broadcasters. Fridays remain a listener favourite, as Morning Glory with Matty Johns (returning February 6) continues to blend league talk, humour and entertainment in only the way Matty Johns can. Johns can also be heard every Tuesday and Thursday on The Run Home.
Commencing the day after SEN’s Super Bowl coverage - across the afternoons from February 10 - Arvos with Adam Peacock will provide a broader look at the sporting agenda, leading into Sydney’s drive‑time staples. The Run Home with Joel & Fletch returns with Joel Caine and Bryan Fletcher on February 2, offering their unique mix of opinion, banter and insight, before Sportsday with Mat Rogers and Jarrod Croker (returning January 27) takes listeners home with the biggest stories in sport.
The refreshed 2026 lineup comes off the back of another year of strong digital engagement for SEN’s NSW audience. Across the most recent survey period (from October 5 to December 13, 2025), SEN 1170am recorded 429,000 web and app users, up 26% year‑on‑year, along with 502,000 total streams and 30.4 million minutes streamed. Social impressions rose to 18.1 million (+36%), while 6.9 million social video views and 2.5 million additional video views were delivered across SEN’s channels – up 134% year‑on‑year. Podcast downloads reached 1.1 million, and a further 7 million video views were captured across other platforms, contributing to a growing NSW social following of 169,000.
SEN CEO, Craig Hutchison, said the new schedule reflects the station’s commitment to delivering more voices, greater variety and a deeper connection with Sydney audiences.
“Sydney is one of the world’s greatest sporting cities, and we’re proud to offer a line-up that reflects the passion, depth and diversity of its fans. Brandy and Jimmy are two of the most knowledgeable and trusted voices in rugby league, and adding Chad Townsend to Fridays gives listeners unique insight from someone who has only just stepped off the field.
“Vossy, Matty Johns, Joel & Fletch, Adam Peacock, Mat Rogers and Jarrod Croker continue to bring experience, personality and analysis that Sydney listeners love. Paired with the continued growth of our digital channels, this lineup positions SEN 1170am for an exciting and engaging year ahead.”
