CAULFIELD
Race 2 | 9. Illative
Has been ok first couple runs back and always runs well third-up. Race set up didn’t help last start and that was tougher. Not a huge amount of speed but Zebella should cross from that gate and Beau Mertens can follow and be a little prominent. Weighted well and is the one I like a lot! Fav (Splash Back) is all class but this will be too short I think even with its great first up form. The speed that might not be there won’t help either.
Race 6 | 3. Jimmy The Bear
Really good run resuming behind the now Straddie fave. Made a huge run and his second up form is elite. Claim helps a little and the young jockey is riding well. Just comes out of better races and I am very confident he is the one to beat!
Race 8 | 7. Niance
Only two can win the race but I am leaning towards this girl who could be anything. Paddock accident meant we didn’t see her earlier in Autumn and she trialled up amazing. She beat She's Bulletproof last time in and it nearly won the OP. Every way you turn, it’s hard to ignore her but I like Recommendation as well. Flies first up, trailed without asking too do much and loves this track and distance. If he has come back ok from Hong Kong he is the only horse who can trouble Niance. Include these two in your same race multi, exactas, Quinella ect!!
ROSEHILL
Race 5 | 13. Ellipsis
We haven’t seen her since April 21 but she did beat Flying Embers who has franked that form since. Has won a trial since and I think she is the horse with the class and upside. Don’t go overboard until we see the track and what to make of the fence. She will go forward so Morgan can dictate a little for preferred going. Hoping can sit on the back of Power Ballard and come off the fence in run. Like her a lot and think she will be too good!!
Race 7 | 10. Kerguelen
Classiest horse in the race and handles the heavy so today regardless of how track plays should be an issue. Drawn to get a lovely run in transit behind the speed supplied by intriguing Fully Lit. Always runs well and I wouldn’t want it much shorter than $2.60 but I expect him to win.
EAGLE FARM
Race 7 | 8. Rise At Dawn
I am more confident he wins the Stradbroke but $17 is overs for today. Perfect draw and this is easier than last two starts. Any rain or chopped track won’t hurt him and there is no speed in the race outside of Zarasto so being on speed will be advantage. Again I think the Straddie is the target but this is a G1 and he will run well!
Race 8 | 7. Politely Dun & 10. Maison Louis (both each-way)Open Derby as always but these two will stay the 2400m and profile to be in the finish. Politely Dun was my VC play and he was OK and this is easier and he has been good. That Flemington win last start was of a slugging stayer and before that he ran well behind Statuario at Caulfield which probably doesn’t suit him. He will go back from that gate and go past many in the straight.
Maison Louis is my bigger bet and I think he is crying out for distance. I think the RH run was of a horse who can grind and grind and he gets a sniff today. He won’t go around a horse and star jockey will give him a lovely run. He handled the heavy ok that day and I think he will run a huge race! I’ll be having these two in Sportsbet more more places Same Race Multi as well as each way plays.

CAULFIELD
Race 3 | 1. Big Swinger
Looks the one here dropping significantly in grade from his last run which was full of merit in the G2 Arrowfield in Sydney. Draws perfect to get the run of the race for inform hoop Ben Allen who rides him for the first time.
Race 4 | 1. Extreme Virtue
Hits this second up where she’s 2/2 off a very good first up run. Strips fitter for that and I haven’t got a problem staying at 1400m as she does drop a grade. Gets a huge claim and will be hard to beat.
ROSEHILL
Race 6 | 4. Maori Chef
Hasn’t put a foot wrong this prep winning both his starts. Form has been franked from his last win with Hell To Pay winning Wednesday at Canterbury. Steps up to 1500m for the first time but will have it easy after drawing two.
