Cam Luke
BALLARAT (SYNTH)
Race 3 | 2. Shadeelaa
The fit horse who loves Syntho and beat a harder field last start. Has to carry more weight today but I’m more comfortable with that with a horse In form rather than the fav stepping up from 1500m. They went quick last time so I am with the fit horse who is great form!
Race 7 | 5. Whitson
Running well and again on the Syntho works here! Was huge last start when flashed home in tougher race. The speed will be on again here as per in 1000m but as long as he isn’t looking for 1100/1200m and hits a little flat spot he will be the one storming over the top of them late!
GRAFTON
Race 6 | 2. Master Artist
Drawn horribly but this is easier than last couple. 1400m here suits him better up from 1350m than the fav (1000-1400m). Heavy track won’t a concern so if there is a smidge of luck early and gets a backside he will run a huge race! Tough race and a few in quaddie but Master Artist will run well!
NEWCASTLE
Race 3 | 2. Onmalone
Really open good race! Nosed out on debut by Congressman who was having its second start after losing to King Of Pop and Savvy Hallie which is good form. Has trialled up well one of which was Heavy track. Will squeeze forward and be prominent in the run! Don’t go huge on the slop but I expect this horse to improve into second prep.
Race 4 | 9. Smart Cry (each-way)
Has actually ran well both career runs and broke the maiden last start in the slop! Thinks the 1250m will suit and there is a bit of speed Bellenth & Erina will go quick which will help Smart Cry who will be spat out the back! This is harder but she will be strong late and is over the odds at $10.
Race 7 | 8. Hammoon Heroine
Was really good on debut in a strong maiden and actually had no luck when race was there to be won although some of it might have been her inexperience. She hit the line really well and the 1500m will suit perfectly. Will get a similar run in transit and with natural improvement with be very hard to beat! If the track is upgraded, I will bet a little more than I have as always a question first time on heavy. Shanoni the main danger after her decent run on the heavy in a BM64 last start. Only two in the quaddie.
Sam Hyland
BALLARAT (SYNTH)
Race 2 | 1. Call Me Phil
Has been good at recent runs and should stride forward from the ride draw, home track is a positive and should take catching.
GRAFTON
Race 3 | 1. Andros
Has found a race with not a lot of depth and should be strong at the trip, wet ground he has been effective.
NEWCASTLE
Race 5 | 3. Elegant Empress
Is good in the heavy and has been very honest this preparation should be up on speed and give this a shake.
HOME HILL
Race 4 | 1. Kings Castle
Is a tough hardy type and has his favourite jockey on board will get a good run and can win, all the best punters!
