'I haven’t heard much': Tedesco unsure if he'll make Kangaroos squad

James Tedesco has revealed that Kangaroos coach Kevin Walters and his wider team are yet to speak with him about being potentially selected for the national team.
Tedesco has had an excellent season for the Sydney Roosters, which has seen the star fullback firm at one of the favourites for the Dally M Medal, which would be his second in his career.
Following that form, this has also seen his name thrown around as a potential contender for the starting fullback in the Kangaroos for their upcoming Rugby Ashes series which would his first selection to the side since 2023.
Despite his form, Tedesco said that at this stage, he has been left in the dark as to whether he will be in the 22-man squad for England by the coaching staff.
And while he hasn’t received word from Walters, the Roosters’ captain has been proud of how he has played this year to even be in contention for the squad amongst Dylan Edwards and Reece Walsh.
"I’m not too sure to be honest, I haven’t heard much from Kevie or the Australian Kangaroos staff,” he told SEN’s Saturday League Kick-Off.
“I’m staying fit and staying healthy, and we’ll just see what happens.
“I didn’t really think about it too much at the start of the year, to not put that pressure on myself to play rep footy.
“But I guess the footy I was playing has put me in a position to where I am a chance.
“We’ll see what happens. I mean, Dylan and Walshy will be playing (tomorrow) night, so we will see how they go.
“If they win Grand Finals, they’ll put themselves in the position to have that spot.”
The Kangaroos will play three test matches against England, with their tour beginning on October 25 (October 26 in Australia) at Wembley Stadium.
The squad is expected to be named once the NRL season has officially concluded.
