Perth Racing secures long-term media deal with SEN
Perth Racing has secured a new long-term media partnership with Sports Entertainment Network (SEN), strengthening its presence across Western Australia’s leading sport and entertainment platform at a time of strong commercial momentum for the club.
The two-year agreement, commencing 1 May, follows a highly successful BYD Quokka Day in April, which delivered a 30 per cent year-on-year increase in attendance, once again driven by an increase in the number of younger racing fans heading to the track. This builds on an upward trajectory established during the 2025 Spring Carnival, which recorded an 11 per cent increase in attendance.
Under the partnership, Perth Racing will become the official presenting partner of SEN’s Friday Breakfast program with Peter Bell and Tim Gossage, alongside a dedicated weekly segment featuring a Perth Racing spokesperson. The agreement also includes race previews, promotion of upcoming race days, and outside broadcast opportunities from Ascot and Belmont Park.
Perth Racing will further align with SEN’s midweek racing coverage through SENTrack’s Wednesday Raceday programming, ensuring consistent visibility across key moments in the racing calendar.
The partnership delivers Perth Racing an ongoing presence across SEN’s radio and digital platforms, reaching a growing Western Australian audience of 1.5 million annual streams, 5.2 million podcast listeners and more than 10 million video views.
Perth Racing CEO James Oldring said the timing of the partnership reflects the club’s continued growth and ambition.
“Off the back of a record BYD Quokka Day and strong Spring Carnival performance, this partnership with SEN allows us to build sustained momentum and deepen engagement with sporting audiences across the state,” Oldring said.
Attention now turns to the upcoming winter racing season at Belmont Park Racecourse, which will showcase an $8 million refurbishment and further reinforce the scale of the broader Burswood Point area as one of Perth’s most significant sporting and entertainment precincts.
CEO & Managing Director of SEN, Craig Hutchison, said the partnership would bring listeners closer to the action.
“We are delighted to partner Perth Racing and support its strategy to drive engagement, entertainment and attendance across its two city venues, including the impressive overhaul of the Belmont Park track and experience,” Hutchison said.
“Perth Racing is respected right around Australia and plays such a vital role in the sport and tourism culture of Western Australia, with a customer first mindset across its entire racing, sport and entertainment experiences.
“We are excited to partner across SEN WA, SENTurf, SENTrack and the SEN app to showcase this into our highly engaged audiences.”
The partnership underscores Perth Racing’s strategic focus on audience growth, premium experiences and strengthening its position within Western Australia’s major sporting event landscapes.
