After a stunning title defence against Britain’s Anthony Joshua in September 2024, Greenwich native Daniel Dubois will look to defend his IBF Heavyweight title against former champion Joseph Parker.
Dubois (2202, 21 KOs) extended his winning streak to five after a powerful knockout of Joshua in the fifth round of their bout at Wembley. Dubois knocked Joshua down four times in a one-sided contest. Joshua threatened a remarkable comeback in the fifth round with a few significant punches landing but was eventually defeated with a strong hook from Dubois.
Despite entering the contest with form, DAZN promoter Eddie Hearn is confident that New Zealand challenger Joseph Parker (35-3, 23 KOs) can claim the title. Parker, a former WBO world heavyweight title holder, possesses greater movement and stamina to Dubois and has a superior jab.
Dubois is arguably the stronger fighter but Parker will be hoping to extend the fight into the eighth and ninth rounds in order to give him the best possible chance of victory.
Dubois and Parker will face of in the ‘Fight Card of the Century’ in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The pair will feature before the main event; Beterbiev v Bivol II.
