Parker: Note to DCE - put this contract saga to bed

Embattled Manly captain Daly Cherry-Evans needs to put all the speculation surrounding his future to bed and come clean on his plans for the sake of his club’s season, according to Corey Parker.
The Sea Eagles are yet to win this month and currently sit 10th on the ladder with pressure mounting on their coach Anthony Seibold.
Their season has been hampered by off-field saga since Cherry-Evans announced he would be leaving the club at season’s end.
The announcement was made on live TV while club directors denied the claim on another simulcast show.
While the club deny the news derailed their season, parker is not convinced and has called for his former teammate and friend to take some action.
“He’s a friend of mine and ex-teammate, but Daly Cherry-Evans, it is time now let everyone know where he’s going,” Parker said on SENQ Breakfast.
“Put it all to bed. What he’s doing and what it looks like so they can have some clarity moving forward as a club.
“They’ve been so inconsistent. They’re struggling to find form.
“There's talk about the head coach coming under fire, but ever since Daly announced he won’t play for Manly, their form and his form for that matter, has been so inconsistent.
“Off the back of what we’re seeing they’re just not getting the job done. If its not playing a part and they say it’s not, then it’s a backup excuse.”
Ahead of their must-win clash against the Tigers this weekend, under fire Seibold has been forced to deny he is coaching for his future.
“Let’s look at the facts. I came here at the end of 2022, the club had lost seven or eight games in a row,” he said.
“We won more games in 2023 than we did in 22, we won more games in 2024 than we did in 2023 and this year we’ve played some exceptional footy, but we also played poorly at times, and the gap between our best and our worst has been too wide for my liking.
“So to suggest that one game, you’re a good coach if you win the game, you’re a poor coach if you lose the game, is just for me, that’s nonsense.”
