'Unfinished business': Ilias joins Titans for 2026
The Gold Coast Titans have officially confirmed that they have signed Dragons’ halfback Lachlan Ilias.
The 25-year-old has agreed to a two-year deal with the Titans, which will see them add depth in their halves following the retirement of Kieran Foran.
This will now be the third club that Ilias will play for in three seasons after having left South Sydney at the end of the 2024 season to join St George Illawarra for 2025.
He would only play seven games for the Dragons before being demoted to feature in the NSW Cup.
Speaking to club media, coach Josh Hannay is looking forward to what Ilias can contribute to the side, believing that he has unfinished business.
“Lachlan is a smart, composed halfback who’s shown he can perform at the top level,” Hannay said.
“He’s got a strong kicking game, good defensive instincts, and he’ll add real depth and competition to our halves.”
“We’re building a squad for 2026 that are hungry and Lachlan fits that mould perfectly.
“He’s got unfinished business in the NRL, and we’re excited to have him take the next step in his career here on the Gold Coast.”
Ilias is now the latest name to have joined the club as he begins his first year of his three-year deal with the Titans.
Already, they have confirmed the signature of Panthers’ hooker Luke Sommerton alongside fellow half Zane Harrison from the Titans’ junior ranks.
