Report: Payne Haas set to re-sign with the Broncos
Payne Haas has reportedly signed with the Brisbane Broncos but has left the door open to departing the club in just a year.
The star prop has been courted by rebel Rugby Union competition R360 throughout the year, but has remained committed to the reigning premiers for at least one more year, according to News Corp’s Brent Read and Michael Carayannis.
This follows after yet another successful season for Haas, who claimed his sixth Paul Morgan Medal (club best and fairest), which saw him surpass Allan Langer in their premiership-winning year.
With his one-year extension, he's now contracted until 2027, which still falls in line with R360’s now delayed start in 2028, making him potentially available to defect.
The Broncos are set to begin their premiership defence on March 6 when they take on the Penrith Panthers in a preliminary final rematch at Suncorp Stadium.
