Why Voss believes the Dolphins are the best bet to make finals in 2026
Out of all the teams outside the top eight in 2025, SEN’s Andrew Voss has declared the Dolphins as the most likely team to bounce back in 2026.
With one match remaining in the home and away season, the Dolphins are relying on other results to secure a maiden finals berth.
Throughout much of the 2025 campaign, the Dolphins were unable to field a full-strength side due to injury and suspensions. Voss believes that if the Dolphins are afforded a clean run of health, they are a lock for finals football next season.
“The Dolphins at full strength, I’d probably say they are (the best prospect),” Voss said on SEN 1170 Breakfast.
“A lot of people would say Parramatta are the best chance to make finals next season but I’d say the Dolphins at full strength.
“They have had so many players out including blokes like Thomas Flegler and Tom Gilbert.
“Both those two coming back and playing full seasons would be (incredible). Can the rugby league gods just be kind?

“These are State of Origin players.”
“There are still (quality) players out at the moment,” Matt Russell added.
“Jack Bostock, Max Plath, Daniel Saifiti and Herbie Farnworth.
“The Dolphins have just extended the contract for Felise Kaufusui and are adding Morgan Knowles who is coming from the UK.
“Super League spotters say that you have to watch out for Knowles in the NRL.
“Selwyn Cobbo joins the side and Kristian Woolf with one year under his belt as a head coach.
“I’m with you Voss. The Dolphins look good for next year.”
The Dolphins are still a possibility to make the finals. The South Sydney Rabbitohs must defeat the Sydney Roosters on Friday.
The Dolphins must then overcome a points differential deficit of 15 points on the Roosters to secure the eighth and final spot in the 2025 finals series.
