“My word...”: The $21 shot that should be the current Golden Slipper favourite

Leading form analyst Mick Gannon believes West Of Swindon should be the current favourite for the Golden Slipper in March.
The Michael, John & Wayne Hawkes-trained two-year-old produced an eye-catching run at Rosehill last Saturday when running second behind North England in the Golden Gift.
The two-year-old colt’s Golden Slipper price plummeted since that run where he was backed from $41 into $21 and Gannon believes he should be even shorter than that.
West Of Swindon currently sits equal third in betting alongside North England on $21, behind King Kirk ($15) and Bel Marci ($17).
“My word, West Of Swindon ran the fastest last 600m of the meeting and that was in a slow tempo race which was completely against it,” Gannon told SENTrack.
“The pattern of the meeting was completely against it as well as it was suited to be up on speed at a slow tempo.
“This horse has gone enormous and should be the Golden Slipper favourite at this stage, it was really really good and I can’t believe it started $9 given the spruik that was on it, not just from the stable, but others around it.
“Really good horse.”
The Group 1 Golden Slipper (1200m) takes place at Rosehill on March 22 next year.
