(Exacta) Race 6, No.3 - Villa Castina (1st) / No.1 - Brilliant Knight (2nd)Villa Castina is too short to back, now at $2 but 1 out in the quaddie and easily the best of the day from a tipping POV. Was half ok without major luck in the Dulcify and now with a gun jockey, will control this race!! Previous two runs prior to that are good enough for this.
Brilliant Knight resumes after a couple of decent trials. Was much better second-up in first prep over 1400m before tipped out! No doubt he is a horse who will run well over distance! Expect them to come over together from their gates and be 1/2 in lead and Villa Castina to be fitter late.
Race 7, No.4 - Bold DesignDrawn a little trickier than last start where he was really good and only run down late. Staying at the 1000m is a tick, as is the good track! He is very good early so will get a chance to get close to the fence with only one other early pace horse which is Pelette. Will be able to follow her over and sit outside leader I’d imagine. She wasn’t too bad herself prior to Scone last start where the 1200m was too long. She is the one to beat but the second-up form and the added fitness from that run has me with Bold Design.

Race 2, No.1 - Frosted In TimeResumes without any trials but last time at the track was great behind Brutalina who has been really good since. Drawn really nicely to stalk the speed. 1000m kick off, I like better than 1100m on debut and although it’s a little tricky with a lot of debutants, I expect this bloke to be too good! Smugglers Spot raced greenly on debut and has trialled up well since so expect improvement there!
Race 6, No.2 - Oceans AboveWon a Benchmark 64 first-up last prep and if he can match that here, he wins! New stable who are geniuses with tried horses and the jockey is riding very well! Has trialled up without being asked to do heaps!! Now the devil’s advocate. Will go back, so the track will need to be able to help backmarkers especially since the horse to beat is Privalova who will be either leading, outside leader or at worst one out, one back! I’m with Oceans Above as I’m backing the best horse in the race but have Privalova in my quaddie.
Race 7, No.7 - Intriguing StateThere looks to be a bit of speed here, so this speed map looks set for Intriguing State. Only been on a good track once at that was over 1450m which doesn’t suit. Stockdale rides him well and expect him to do the same today. Once the gap opens, he can go bang and win another after some really consistent places!
