Mitch Ebeyer's Thursday Focus and best bets at Albion Park (27/03)
As we build up to the opening of the Q, one of the industry changing venues for not only Queensland Racing but racing across Australasia, we continue as per normal racing at my favourite and most people’s in Albion Park. Blessed with fast dogs and variation is great and after week in week out racing you start to feel like you see them somewhat well. The card tonight is good with some very nice betting propositions.
The first kicks off at 7:13pm with the last, race 11 scheduled for 10:43pm. With wet and wild weather around let’s hope we have an uninterrupted card of racing.
BEST BETS
R1 N1 ZIPPING GATSBY
If he doesn’t win tonight I’m off the dog as I’ve thought he was Stuart Dew in his past few. Mapped ideal last start when colliding with the rail early and still only just losing. Crying out for the red and feel he has a 29.90 in the locker. Speed in the race so has to be on his game at box rise, hard to stop if left alone for long enough!
R3 N3 TWO CENT TILLY
Has great pace when left alone and finds a race with no speed inside. Big win last start in great time and if leads could break 30 seconds. Boxes 1 & 2 moderate beginners as best. Expect to settle forward and continue that great form since resuming from a spell, two wins, three seconds and an unplaced from the past six outings.
R9 N6 TRAPPER TEARS
Small field suits and has drawn ideal by his standards. Would trial faster than any of these 1 out and this race could map like a trial. In good form despite numerical consistency without consistent wins but win two starts back off the red was blistering in 29.81. Yes the 2 will lead clearly but despite any interruption mid race we reel it in and spit it out. Would’ve loved the $5.
VALUE BETS
R5 N4 ROYAL CYNDIE
Strong type in a winnable race. Favourite very short and drawn horrible, on the other hand we are drawn beautifully with a great record off box 4 (11 starts, 4 wins & 3 minors) & the map to suit. Fast dogs inside in 1 & 3 and off our last few expect to sit on them and charge late. Raced against better company the past two, big class drop.
R10 N4 JEWEL BEE
Drops to 520 metres and I like it! Zero speed inside and a favourite that doesn’t know what he wants to do at box rise. There is every chance we lead, every chance also we are stone cold last early, BUT, our form of late is good without numbers saying so. Two back lost to Garrison by 6.8 lengths, arguably the best 600m dog in the state at present. Each way all day please and thanks.
