Matty Johns' mid-season NRL Power Rankings
As the NRL season reaches the halfway point, the SEN Morning Glory with Matty Johns team have given their mid-season top eight Power Rankings.
There would be some consensus among the three men believing that the Raiders are top of the list.
However, beyond that, there would be plenty of differences in terms of the ordering of their Power Rankings.
Read the full list down below:
MATTY JOHNS
1. Canberra Raiders
2. Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs
“I’ve gone Dogs at two,” said Johns.
“They deserve to be there, and I think they will be a better side once they’ve settled when (Lachlan) Galvin really gets his feet under the desk.”
3. New Zealand Warriors
“I’ve gone the Warriors there ahead of the Storm.
“I’ll just say this, I though that last week is the best win that the Warriors have put together in a decade.
“40 to 10, beating the Sharks on the Sharks’ home turf. That was just a huge win and the way they went about their work.”
4. Melbourne Storm
“My concern coming out of this Origin series is that it will actually fatigue them.
“I look at them at the Melbourne Storm and they just… in past years if they lost one of their spine members, they could easily cover it up.
“I’m not too sure, this time.”
5. The Dolphins
“Just playing great football and continuing to climb.
“They’ve won six of the last nine.”
6. Penrith Panthers
“You’re going to see them come. they just creep into the eight, they can win the competition.”
7. Brisbane Broncos
“A lot of that is on capability.”
8. Cronulla Sharks
“I had the Sharks and the Roosters penned together and I though if the Sharks win last night, then I’ll put them in.”

DENAN KEMP
1. Canberra Raiders
“I think they bully teams at times,” said Kemp.
“I think they have the best forward pack in the competition and I think it is quite clear that they’ve got the best forward pack in the competition.
“And yes, you look at that game against the Bulldogs and you go 'Okay, the Dogs came back' but when it clicked for the Raiders, they also scored a bunch of points when they wanted to.”
2. Melbourne Storm
“Would I have the Storm in second if I didn’t have the last 20 years of history? Maybe not, but I just get a little worried they are not willing to grind wins out.
“But we’ll see, they’ve got the best attack in the comp.”
3. Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs
4. New Zealand Warriors
5. Brisbane Broncos
“Just because there is a good side there.
“If it clicks, it’s going to be scary.
“And they are one of those sides that if it does click, they could go on a run.
“But we’ll see.”
6. Cronulla Sharks
7. Penrith Panthers
8. The Dolphins

DAVE RICCIO
1. Canberra Raiders
“Raiders are home and hosed for the minor premiership,” said Riccio.
“They still have byes up their sleeve. They will finish first.”
2. Melbourne Storm
“Keeping in mind that they have maxed out their byes.
“They are the only club that have no more byes left. However, they are just too classy.
“They’ve got the best spine in the comp and ultimately that is what will get them to the grand final.”
3. Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs
“Defensive capabilities. They play to a structure, and they hardly move out of that structure, doesn’t matter, who drops in.
“Dogs will be there when the whips are cracking.”
4. New Zealand Warriors
“I’m with you, Matty.
“They were so powerful against the Sharks. Blew Cronulla off the park through the middle of the field.
“They’re fourth for me.”
5. Penrith Panthers
“I just seem them climbing and climbing as the season progresses.
“Clearly Origin will play a factor and injuries on whether they cop a few injuries to key players.
“But if they stay healthy, they finish fifth.”
6. The Dolphins
“The Dolphins for me, are the sleepers.
“They move into sixth. They’re currently ninth (on the ladder).”
7. Cronulla Sharks
“They finish in the eight but seriously need to get their mojo going defensively.”
8. Brisbane Broncos
“I just find this team an enigma.
“I actually had them out of the eight to be fair.
“I just find them way too inconsistent and I’m not convinced the issues that have stymied them at this point in time have been fixed just due to the fact that they beat the Titans.
“They finish eighth.”
