LIV Golf is set to remain in Adelaide for another three years after South Australian Premier Peter Malinauskas announced the state had reached an agreement with the league to keep the Australian leg in Adelaide until 2028.
The Grange Golf Club will continue to be home of LIV Golf in Australia, which has already been host to some memorable moments in its young history.
The Premier also announced the state’s plan of having a LIV Golf event to be hosted in North Adelaide, with a course to be designed and ready to be used by at least 2031.
“It’s critical to lock in to 2028,” Malinauskas said.
“But beyond that we see another opportunity, we see a big opportunity in North Adelaide.
“Getting LIV Golf into the city unlocks yet more economic potential ... we want to make it easy for patrons and guests coming from interstate and overseas by having the golf in the CBD on a world championship, Greg Norman-designed golf course.
“We will now have something that is globally unique ... to have the world’s best golfers teeing off on one of the world’s best public golf courses in the middle of a metropolitan city.”
