Likely Golden Slipper path set out for impressive favourite Wodeton

The likely Golden Slipper path for gun Coolmore colt Wodeton has been set out.
The two-year-old, out of boom sire Wootton Bassett, was super impressive in taking out his maiden by almost four lengths over 1100m at Rosehill on Saturday.
Under James McDonald, the Chris Waller-trained Wodeton sat in the second half of the nine-horse field before exploding at the 200m, quickly putting his rivals away.
Next up for the $1.6 million juvenile is the Pierro Plate (1100m) at Randwick on February 15, then likely the Todman Stakes (1200m) at the same track on March 8 before the Slipper (1200m) back at Rosehill on March 22.
“I’d say that would be the thinking at the moment,” Coolmore Australia’s Tom Magnier said on SENTrack’s Giddy Up.
“We’re going to have a chat maybe today or tomorrow and see what Chris thinks there.
“The path the two-year-olds have been taking the last couple of years, they’ve all go down that same road so hopefully that will be the way.
“I’m just trying to keep the feet on the ground at the moment.”
Wodeton was wound in from $13 to $4.50 favouritism for the Golden Slipper with Sportsbet following his maiden triumph.
