Jon Jones retires from the UFC
UFC President Dana White has announced that Jon Jones has officially retired from the UFC, ending one of the most dominant and controversial careers in UFC history.
At the UFC Baku post-fight press conference, Dana White had this to say about Jon Jones.
“Jon Jones called us last night and retired,” White confirmed.
“Jon Jones is officially retired.
Tom Aspinall is the heavyweight champion of the UFC.”
After nearly two years of build-up towards a potential mega-fight between Jones and Tom Aspinall, the 37-year-old has decided to call it quits, handing the reins of the heavyweight division to the former interim champion, who now becomes the undisputed titleholder.

With the Jon Jones era officially over, a new generation of fighters now has the chance to step up and fill the massive shoes he leaves behind.
