“I'm very keen”: Mick Gannon’s two-bet play at Caulfield on Saturday

In-form tipster Mick Gannon has surveyed CF Orr Stakes day this Saturday and one race in particular has him keen to play.
The 1600m JRA Plate to be run one before the feature is packed with value around two key gallopers - Chorlton Lane and Windstorm - according to Gannon.
“I love this race; I’ve found two bets in it and this is a really good opportunity to make some money,” he told Gareth Hall and Mitch Lewis on SENTrack's Giddy Up.
“Buffalo River rolls forward, Duke De Sessa there (too). Howgoodareyou and Munhamek will be forward as will Marble Arch.
“I think the race sets up perfectly for Windstorm and Chorlton Lane.”
Having his third start in 2025, Windstorm will appreciate the fitness under his belt over the likes of Duke De Sessa, Warmonger and Dashing Duchess who are all having their first start this prep.
Chorlton Lane is in a similar boat, second-up after a solid hit out at Sandown when finishing second behind Coastwatch and has only ever won on Good tracks (currently a Good 4).
“Chorlton Lane is clearly the horse to beat, he’ll get the run of the race and he’s got Blake Shinn (for the first time),” Gannon said.
“Then you’ve got Windstorm where I’m very keen at a decent price. Logan Bates, the apprentice, off and Jamie Mott on.
“He had some good figures a couple preparations ago where it flies and enjoys a quick back-up. You’re getting $15 Windstorm and $4.80 Chorlton Lane; you can back them both for the same return and I think we’ll get a result there.”
Since the chat with Gareth, Chorlton Lane is now the $4 favourite with Sportsbet while Windstorm has tightened to $13.
