'I'm fine': skipper contradicts coach on absence

Brisbane captain Adam Reynolds and his coach Michael Maguire are on a different wavelength with regard to why he is missing the home clash against the Warriors.
The veteran half has also cast doubt on whether he will play again for the Broncos in an interview about his immediate future.
The 36-year-old contradicted Maguire about the nature of an "injury" that will keep him out of Saturday's match.
Maguire told News Corp that Reynolds was unable to train on Tuesday.
"He just can't," Maguire said.
"He has some issues with his calves and nerves and it's just bothering him. He has a neural issue with his calf."

Reynolds was interviewed on Tuesday night in an official setting at a joint Broncos-Brisbane Lions dinner to raise funds for charity MND and Me.
It was put to Reynolds by a respected rugby league journalist that he was not named this week and he was asked why that was.
"Nothing really," he replied.
"It is a good opportunity for some young fellas to get a go and build on some combinations for the future."
He was then asked if his absence was "injury related".
"No. I feel alright. I feel good," he said.
The next question was: When do we potentially see you back?
"I don't know. You'll find out. (I) will keep you guessing," the skipper replied.
When asked why he was keeping everyone guessing he said: "No reason."

Reynolds transformed Brisbane from a rabble into a premiership winning side when he arrived from South Sydney in 2022, taking the side to the 2023 grand final and 2025 premiership.
He is one of the greatest Broncos signings ever.
The defending premiers are 16th and won't play finals. After the Warriors fixture there will only be the round-26 clash with Melbourne to be played at the club's home ground of Suncorp Stadium.
That is why the 323-game legend was asked if he wanted a farewell.
"If there is a farewell there is a farewell," he said.
"I am happy with the career I have had. There are other players in the team that deserve it more than I do, who have been a big part of the club for a lot longer than I have."
Reynolds was no doubt alluding to prop Payne Haas, who will leave the club for Souths at the end of the season after nine stellar campaigns.
Reynolds, who missed five weeks with a calf complaint after round 15, suffered a concussion against Newcastle that ruled him out of last week's home clash with the Dolphins.

His place was taken by young gun half Tom Duffy, who is one of the "young blokes" he was referring to that the club will look to in the future.
"We still want to win games, and we still want to go out there and compete. We won't stop trying," Reynolds said.
"We have made a point of trying to get the best out of ourselves for the back end of the year and get some momentum heading into next year. We won't be playing for a trophy this year, but there is still a lot of pride on the line.
"Everyone that puts that jersey on has still got a job to do."
