'I know it better than most': Wood's Christchurch edge for Kiwi Supercars double

Taupo race winner Ryan Wood believes he could have the upper hand for this weekend's inaugural Christchurch Supercars event.
'Woody' made history on Saturday after becoming the first driver to race a Toyota to the top step of a Supercars podium, securing a win in Race 9.
And with a wealth of experience racing at Ruapuna Motorsport Park with former team James Marshall Motorsport, the 22-year-old Kiwi is well placed to repeat that dose in Christchurch.
“I used to do a bit of testing. I did the South Island Endurance and a few other things down there," Wood told Sport Nation’s Millsy & Guy.
“I know it probably a bit better than most others that I'm racing against, so hopefully it gives me an upper hand.”

The Wellingtonian currently sits fifth in championship points and is the top-scoring Toyota after three rounds.
During the off-season, Ryan Wood's Walkinshaw TWG Racing outfit changed from Ford Mustangs to Toyota Supras, with fellow team Brad Jones Racing also making the switch from the Chevrolet Camaro.
Wood explained the biggest difference is the car setup, so the adjustment learning curve hasn't been steep.
“Driving-wise it's pretty similar, it's still a V8, it's still a Supercar, same chassis, different aero a little bit, but it's not night and day.”
Wood said he looks forward to coming home every year, and it’s likely his favourite part of the annual Supercars calendar.
“The biggest thing is the home crowd advantage and, to have that twice is pretty awesome.”
