“Outstanding value”: Richo’s Group 1 tips on Caulfield Guineas Day

Much-loved racing broadcaster Jason Richardson has made his selections for the three Group 1 races on Caulfield Guineas Day this Saturday.
Richo is siding with Chris Waller’s Buckaroo to knock off emerging mare Treasurethe Moment in the five-horse Might And Power Stakes over 2000m.
He’s also found some monster value in the feature race - the 1600m Guineas for three-year-olds - and likes a previous G1 winner (part-owned by Collingwood coach Craig McRae) at very nice odds in the Toorak Handicap, also over the mile.
Might And Power
“I think Buckaroo can defeat Treasurethe Moment. I just don’t like any horse that has had a little setback after her mild colic attack,” Richardson told SEN Breakfast.
“I’m concerned that she may be exposed and Buckaroo (can win).”
Buckaroo is $2.60 with Sportsbet.
Caulfield Guineas
“The best roughie in the Caulfield Guineas is Space Rider who is 40-1 ($35 right now on Sportsbet).
“He ran a terrific race last start at Caulfield over 1400m. I think he’ll get the mile, he’ll be ridden nice and quiet by Beau Mertens.
“At near 40-1 I think he represents outstanding value.”
Toorak Handicap
“I think that maybe ‘Fly’ can win. Craig McRae’s horse Feroce at $12 is a terrific price for an Australian Guineas winner.
“I loved the way he ran in then Sir Rupert Clarke. I think he’s over the odds.”
