On Display a Group 1 winner-in-waiting

Mick Price believes emerging mare On Display is a Group 1 winner-in-waiting.
The daughter of Fastnet Rock won impressively over 1400m at Caulfield on Saturday, sitting back before rounding them up with a classy turn of foot.
Co-trainer Price has high hopes for the four-year-old, who after a luckless run in the Group 2 Queen Of The South Stakes in Adelaide in April, is destined for Group success.
Price is forecasting that On Display could end up claiming the Empire Rose Stakes (1600m) at Flemington on Derby Day providing all goes well in the lead-up.
“I think she can nearly win the Group 1 (Empire Rose). A mile is a beautiful distance for her,” Price said on SENTrack & RSN’s Giddy Up.
“Every day we look at how horses pull up from races and she just walked out of the box like she had not been to the races.
“I think she’s got great capacity, I think she’s got great potential. We haven’t seen the best of her yet.
“She should have been a Group 2 winner in South Australia which is why we are scrambling around for a few ratings points.
“Look, she’s got a prep in front of her. Maybe she’ll have run number four leading in to the Empire Rose, there’s a good little program for her.
“She’s a good mare.”
On Display is currently rated an $8 chance for the November 1 Empire Rose with Sportsbet.
She is also nominated for the Toorak Handicap at Caulfield on October 11 where she is at $15.
Stablemate Miss Roumbini is another runner of Price and co-trainer Mick Kent’s who could claim a Group 1 sooner than later.
The Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield on September 18 is in the sights of the five-year-old Zoustar mare even if the jockey they wanted took the ride on early race favourite Sepals.
“We tried to get C.Williams to ride her… I think he’s on Sepals,” Price said of Miss Roumbini.
“She’s a really good mare, her magic Millions win (at Gold Coast in January) was good. She’s improving like a lot of those Zoustars do when they get older.
“At 1400m and second-up is tick, tick, low weight is a tick. Right time, right place I hope she can win a Group 1, that would be fantastic.
“Regardless, she’ll be competitive.”
Miss Roumbini is priced at $11 with Sportsbet for the Sir Rupert Clarke.
One of Price’s mares that already has a Group 1 to her name is Charm Stone.
The winner of the Sangster at Morphettville in April will head towards the Manikato Stakes at The Valley on September 26.
“She’s in beautiful condition. I’m very happy with her,” he said of Charm Stone.
Charm Stone is currently $15 with Sportsbet for the Manikato.
