Some pundits were unsure whether we would ever see fan favourite Pride Of Jenni race again following her final run of the Cup Carnival.
The eight-year-old mare finished second last in the Group 1 Champions Mile, which was run on a heavy 9 Flemington track, putting question marks on the Tony Ottobre-owned star.
Jenni’s trainer, Ciaron Maher, put those questions to bed though, assuring the racing community that she will most likely run in the autumn.
“Jenni was absolutely awesome (this spring),” Maher told SENTrack & RSN’s Giddy Up.
“At this stage she will (race in autumn).
“She came through her last run, you could see very early on, she was dipping and diving and wasn’t comfortable on the ground.
“But we know she’s tough as old boots, so she’s gone back to Tony and Lynn (Ottobre’s) place.
“She’ll have a bit of rest and recovery.
“I’m sure she will be back for the autumn.”
Pride Of Jenni will be a nine-year-old mare in the Autumn Racing Carnival, along with superstar Via Sistina.
