Omar Marmoush’s career at Manchester City has taken lift off after he scored a sublime first half hattrick to help lead City to a 4-0 win over Newcastle overnight.
City dominated the match against the seventh placed Newcastle, recording 13 shots to three for the whole match.
Newcastle’s loss sees them go a game behind City, who are holding on to the last spot inside the top four at the moment.
The reigning champions are now within a game of third placed Nottingham Forest, who failed to claim all three points against Fulham after they lost 2-1.
Goals from Emile Smith Rowe and Calvin Bassey did enough to cancel out Chris Wood’s 18th goal of the season.
The win for Fulham sees them now climb to eighth position on the Premier League table, as well as being only four points behind fifth spot.
Aston Villa were one of the two teams to slip behind Fulham after their matchday 25 encounter with Ipswich Town ended in a 1-1 draw.
Frustratingly for Villa, they dominated the match and could only score the one goal, which came after Liam Delap shockingly gave the 19th placed side the lead in the 56th minute.
Aston Villa had a massive 25 shots to four for the whole match, as well as the advantage of playing with an extra player from the 40th minute after Axel Tuanzebe was sent off.
Bournemouth have almost certainly sent Southampton back to the Championship for next season, as the Saints suffered another defeat at home losing 3-1.
Dango Ouattara and Ryan Christie gave the Cherries a comfortable 2-0 lead within 16 minutes of the match, before play became a stalemate for a fair period of time.
Southampton thought they were back in the game when Kamaldeen Sulemana scored in the 72nd minute to make it 2-1, until Marcus Tavernier sent through a thunderbolt to ensure the three points were going home with Bournemouth.
The win for the Cherries now sees them holding fifth spot at the end of matchday 25, with Chelsea’s 3-0 loss to Brighton and Newcastle’s 4-0 loss to Manchester City paving the way for the Cherries to give themselves a glimmer of hope in reaching a European spot come seasons end.
Despite missing multiple key players, Arsenal fought on strong to eventually claim a 2-0 victory away from home to Leicester City.
The Foxes battled hard in ensuring the Gunners would have their work cut out for them, until the make shift number nine in Mikel Merino scored twice within six minutes to ensure the Gunners would find themselves within four points of Liverpool at the top of the table.
West Ham got away with only a 1-0 loss at home to Brentford after the Bees dominated from start to finish against the struggling Hammers in London.
Kevin Schade opened the scoring for Brentford in the fourth minute, but by the half an hour mark it could’ve been a lot worse as Brentford missed multiple sitters that would’ve put the game beyond reach a lot earlier.
And remarkably, Everton have announced themselves as one of the in form teams in the competition after gaining all three points from their clash with Crystal Palace over night.
David Moyes’ side have now won four of their last five Premier League matches, with the 2-1 win now also registering Everton’s 13th point from their last six games.
Both Tottenham and Manchester United have subsequently been jumped by Everton on the table after this result and will fittingly play each other on Monday morning, in what proves to be a crucial match for both Ange Postecoglou and Ruben Amorim’s futures.
Liverpool will welcome Wolverhampton to Anfield on Monday morning as well, where the Reds will be looking to bounce back from their 2-2 draw in the Merseyside derby.
