Friday best bets from Luke & Brown (11/07)
Cam Luke & Campbell Brown have your Friday sorted on Trackside.
The lads have taken a close look at Geelong, Moe, Scone Mount Gambier, Moruya & Mackay in a bid to find the family some winners.
See their best bets below:👇
Cam Luke
GEELONG
Race 6 | 5. Rosso
Never had a chance in Aus debut going back from the gate and will be closer today. Also needs further which he gets today. Soft track no concern and these internationals can improve second when conditions suit better which they do today. I have gone a few in the quaddie but this bloke up to 2400m with a better speed map and a star jockey is a play!
Race 7 | 3. Simply Outrageous
Didn’t handle the Syntho last start so total forgive and am leaning more on the win previous form. Back on turf helps and soft no dramas. Will go back from the gate but no major concern with plenty of speed in the race. Will have last crack at them and down the middle late it will fly! Only got her and the danger Glamour Ana in the quaddie.
MOE
Race 4 | 13. Ninyo
Hasn’t been setting the world on fire last couple but not many have in this race. There is plenty of speed early (Knuckle/Here With Me) so going back from the gate no issue. This will be a slow grind late on the slop but he loves it and will be getting home well and I expect the claim and the young fella In form to get this mare very close!
Race 6 | 1. Aseventy Seven
Hasn’t been in form this prep but blinkers on and a perfect gate to control the race and a BM52 if he can’t win today he might be out of options. Even if he sits OSL Blaazay he will have no excuse. 1600m no issue and I think he has been well placed here to gain confidence to run like last year when ran well in town. Heavy no issues either.
SCONE
Race 5 | 9. Grainne
Taking on the odds on pop (The Big Blue) with this girl who having another crack at the 1600m helps! She was good last start in what I think was a deeper race. Barrier is a small concern but she normally snags back anyway so backside ect ect. The form has stacked up from her last start and she has fitness over the fave that will sway the race in her favour. They are only two in quad!
Race 7 | 1. Panta Rhei (each-way)
This is easier and will be able to go control this race from a nice draw or take a sit if a couple inside (Wild Sensation/Ready And Lucky) go hard early. Handles the soft nicely and looks like she will love the 1300m step up. Nice race and have a couple others in the quaddie but she is over the odds and nice each way play!
MORUYA
Race 5 | 7. Sutton Vella
Drawn nicely to be handy first up and expect Jeff Penza to be able to find best of straight if it’s wider. Never runs a bad race and was placed in a highway last prep. This is much easier than those races and forget the final prep run as it’s better than on paper as it drew barrier 13. Will be very hard to beat.
Race 8 | 7. Timeless Grace
Was really good on debut and was tipped out and now gets a very winnable race with scratchings. Drawn perfectly to get run of the race and with the improvement expected second prep I think will be too good here! Heavy also a question first time on it but outside of Sweet About Me there isn’t great form on it in others.

Campbell Brown
GEELONG
Race 5 | 9. Marine Empress
Really eye catching debut when rattled home for second. Should take enormous benefit and race experience from that. Steps up today. Begg stable always very astute. $1.75 is very short though.
MOE
Race 6 | 1. Aseventy Seven
Been building up to this staying trip. Was caught wide last start, will get a far more economical trip from barrier 5 today. Will be in the finish $3.30.
SCONE
Race 3 | 1. Ballinderry Sal
Loves the sting out of the ground this horse. Coming back from being competitive in BM74. Two wins before that were good. Will go forward and might skip away on the favourite. $5.
MOUNT GAMBIER
Race 6 | 1. Matthew Mark
Drops significantly in weight. Will go forward and lead in a race without a lot of speed and control things. Third up today so step up in trip is perfect. Ready to win at $3.40.
MACKAY
Race 5 | 1. Mordecai
Model of consistency, who rarely runs poorly. Gets a great chances today to win, needs to negotiate an awkward barrier for a horse without great early speed. $2.60.
