Oscar Piastri's $2.8 million F1 damage bill
Oscar Piastri has racked up almost $3 million (AUD) in damages to his McLaren this season as he continues his quest for a maiden Formula One title.
The Aussie, who is second in the driver standings with three races remaining, enjoyed a terrific start to the 2025 F1 season but has, in recent weeks, suffered a nosedive in form.
Piastri's worst race of the season came in Baku where he crashed out in both qualifying and the race leaving him with a pointless weekend.
"There's no beating around the bush, that was the worst weekend I've ever had in racing," he said at the time.
Azerbaijan also marked the start of his form slump with the 24-year-old failing to make it on the podium since Monza in September.
Incredibly, another Aussie made the list and sits higher than Piastri. Jack Doohan was fifth with $3.2 million in damages despite only driving in the first six races of the year before being sacked.
