Cummings on Broadsiding, Zardozi; and The Driver's Godolphin best bet
Godolphin trainer James Cummings has provided insight into the future of rising star Broadsiding following his win in the Rosehill Guineas.
Broadsiding has thrived since his last start, and Cummings is confident he will be primed for another strong performance when he next races in the All Aged Strakes om April 19.
“He’s come through the Rosehill Guineas in smashing fashion,” Cummings told SEN's Giddy Up.
“I loved what I saw from that horse on the track this morning.
“He is going to freshen up beautifully for the All Aged Stakes in four weeks’ time.”

Drawing comparisons to his sire, Too Darn Hot, Cummings believes Broadsiding is well suited to the 1400m trip.
“I do see a lot of similarities between Broadsiding and his own sire, Too Darn Hot,” he continued.
“In seeing those similarities, I think that Broadsiding is worthwhile being tested back to seven furlongs, where he has been able to show plenty of pace before.”
Broadsiding will be “fourth-up, fresh and ready to fire” for the All Aged Stakes, and Cummings is eager to see how he measures up.
“It will do his reputation a world of good if he could get up and beat those horses at weight-for-age,” he said.
However, Cummings was undecided on whether the All Aged Stakes would be the colt’s final run.
“I don’t know about that… That’ll be a decision for the team,” he said.
Zardozi Set for high-pressure Australian Cup
Cummings also spoke about Zardozi’s prospects in Saturday’s Australian Cup, where she will take on Pride Of Jenni in what he expects to be a high-pressure race.
“(She’s) coming out of a high-pressure race, such as we expect to see on Saturday,” he confidently said.
“Regardless of that, she’s already come through the Peter Young (Stakes), which was run at a solid gallop.
“And what I love about that is that my horses that have been involved in those races, they really come on.”
As for what’s next with Zardozi, Cummings is keeping his options open.
“We will get through this weekend first before we lock in a target for her,” he said.
Zardozi holds entries for multiple upcoming races, including the Queen Elizabeth and Sydney Cup, but a spell remains a possibility.
“It is an option that we would just go straight to the paddock.”
“I am open-minded about where we go next.”
‘The Driver’s’ Best Bet
Cummings’ personal driver, known simply as ‘The Driver,’ also gave his tip for the weekend.
“My pick for the week would be Pisanello,” he said.
With Broadsiding preparing for the All Aged Stakes and Zardozi gearing up for a major test, all eyes will be on Cummings’ stable this weekend.
