Last night an exclusive venue in Albert Park played host to an inspiring and thought-provoking evening as part of the Women In Sport Panel, presented by Lean Cuisine in partnership with the popular podcast; ‘Don’t Shoot The Messenger’, hosted by Caroline Wilson and Corrie Perkin, and produced by Sports Entertainment Network (SEN).
The event, themed around Lean Cuisine’s empowering message ‘Listen to Nobody But Your Body’, brought together a full house of passionate guests who had won exclusive double passes to attend. The evening featured a dynamic panel discussion with three trailblazing women in sport and media: Erin Phillips, Tayla Fraser and Rana Hussein.
Erin Phillips is a dual-sport champion, celebrated for her achievements in both basketball - where she won two WNBA titles and represented Australia at the Olympic Games - and Australian rules football, where she became a three-time AFLW premiership player and was recently inducted into the Australian Football Hall of Fame.
Tayla Fraser is a rising star in Australian netball, known for her versatility across midcourt positions and her contributions to two premiership-winning seasons with the NSW Swifts before joining the Melbourne Mavericks. Fraser is also an ambassador for Lean Cuisine.
Rana Hussein is a trailblazer in sports media and inclusion, recognised for her advocacy in diversity and belonging across major sporting organisations and as the founder of Good.Human, a consultancy focused on inclusive leadership and cultural change.
Throughout the evening, attendees engaged in meaningful conversations and celebrated the achievements of women in sport. The live podcast, diving into the panel’s personal journeys, challenges, and triumphs in their respective fields. The discussion highlighted the evolving landscape of women’s sports, representation in media, and the importance of authenticity and resilience.
Reflecting on the evening, Caroline Wilson shared:
“The women’s sport panel featuring Tayla, Erin and Rana was absolutely fascinating. These are three very different women, each sharing unique and honest stories. They offered thoughtful ideas about what can be done, what should be done, and what we should be celebrating ,rather than complaining about. I really enjoyed it.”
Corrie Perkin added:
“Caro and I have been dancing around sporting fields for more than 40 years as sports journalists. If you’d told me back then that I’d be hosting a Women In Sport Panel with women who are equal to men in influence and ability [in their field], I wouldn’t have believed it. It’s fantastic to see such great role models - role models not just for women, but for men too.”
Anand Surujpal, Chief Marketing and Growth Officer of Patties Foods (parent company of Lean Cuisine), also spoke to the brand’s involvement in the evening.
“Lean Cuisine is proud to support events like this that amplify women’s voices and celebrate their achievements. Our message, ‘Listen to Nobody But Your Body,’ is about empowering women to trust themselves, embrace their strength and lead with confidence - values that were beautifully reflected in last night’s panel.”
The Lean Cuisine partnership underscores the brand’s commitment to supporting women’s voices and promoting body positivity and self-trust. The event was a celebration not only of sport but of strength, individuality, and community.
