Carayannis' Crystal Ball: 17th to 13th

The 2025 NRL season begins in under a month with the double header season opener at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.
Ahead of the season getting underway, The Daily Telegraph’s Michael Carayannis has looked into his crystal ball and forecast the big headline for every team in 2025.
Wests Tigers
“Let’s keep this nice and simple for the Wests Tigers faithful,” Carayannis declared on SEN 1170 Breakfast.
“The Wests Tigers will not win the wooden spoon. They will not come last.
“That should be enough to keep clubs and fans happy given where they have been.”
South Sydney Rabbitohs
“Alex Johnston will break the all-time try-scoring record.
“However, it will not be at the Rabbitohs. It will be elsewhere.
“He’s on 195 tries. I don’t think he will get the record, which is 212, this year. He’s also off contract by the end of the year.”
Parramatta Eels
“Mitch Moses will win the Dally M Medal.
“I think Clint Gutherson has been a point stealer because of his effort. If the Eels ever lost, he would give seven or eight out of 10 each week.
“With him gone, it’s really Mitch Moses’ side. I don’t think they will win enough games to make finals but I do think they will win enough games to poll enough maximum points.
“When Parramatta win, he will poll every game.
“I think he’s now in that sweet spot of his career. I think he walks away with the top gong.”
Gold Coast Titans
“The Titans will either move on from AJ Brimson or Jayden Campbell.
“It will be after another failed positional switch for the pair.
“The Titans haven’t nailed where to play three fullbacks. That’s their best positions including Keano Kini.
“The positional switch has to happen. Their forward pack is elite but the question mark remains around their halves and what production they will get.
“They should swap one of (Brimson or Campbell) to another club and get something in return. Maybe a genuine half because that’s what they need.
“They do not need another fullback.”
The Warriors
“Cleary is set for take off. Not Nathan and not Ivan but Jett.
“I think he will get a taste of first grade at some point this year.
“He’s 19 and he might jag a game. He’s on a train and trial contract.
“It’s a great move for Jett because it’s a club they trust, an organisation they trust and a coach they trust in Andrew Webster.”
