Todd Woodbridge has made his feelings known about Australian Tristan Schoolkate's First Round loss to Frenchman Corentin Moutet.
The 24-year-old becomes the first Aussie knocked out of the main draw of the Australian Open following a 6-4, 7-6, 6-3 defeat out on Kia Arena on Sunday.
The West Aussie's 29 unforced errors compared to the World No. 34's 12 proved costly alongside Schoolkate's inability to convert from break points.
Speaking on Channel 9, the 16-time Grand Slam doubles champion would slam his performance, even going as far as to say that he was "playing to lose"
"He's playing to lose," he said.
"He shouldn't be in this position. Take this match-up."
"At the moment, he is stuck for what to do."
"Dare I say it, he is choking at the wrong side of this match."
This means that the World No. 97 will be unable to repeat his Second Round feat from last year's edition of the AO.
Moutet will now go on to play the winner between Sebastian Korda and Michael Zheng in the Second Round.
The Australian Open action continues with the night session about to get underway, with the two World No.1s, Carlos Alcaraz and Aryna Sabalenka set to take the stage.
