Lawson hits back in short-lived incident plagued practice
Kiwi F1 driver Liam Lawson has hit back and gone ahead of his Racing Bulls and Red Bull teammates at Suzuka.
Full Practice session two at the Japanese Grand Prix was red flagged after a sizeable crash from Australian rookie Jack Doohan.
The Alpine driver lost control at turn one during the practice session, spinning multiple times before colliding with the barrier at extremely high speed.
The 22-year-old was travelling at 331km/h as he lost control, however confirmed that he was okay and has since walked off the track from the incident.
But before the red flag Lawson had gone ahead of his Racing Bulls and Red Bull teammates to sit fifth on the timing sheets.
The practice session has been called off for the day, with further practice and qualifying to commence tomorrow.
