Aussie XIs: Morris & Sundaresanâs predictions for Gabba Test
SENÂ âą Â November 24th, 2025 3:30 pm

SEN Cricketâs Tom Morris and Bharat Sundaresan have named their respective Australian XIs for the second Test.
Both are making at least one change to the side that defeated England by eight wickets in the remarkable opening Test in Perth.
See their XIs for the Gabba which starts on December 4 and reasoning below:
BHARATâS XI
âI apologise to Usman Khawaja who I do rate a lot as a person and as a cricketer,â Sundaresan said on SEN Cricketâs The New Ball.
âCam Green in what I feel is his natural position at no.5. Beau Webster, who did nothing wrong to lose his place in the side, should definitely come back at no.6.
âI think the bowlers stick with Starc, Lyon, Doggett and Boland. Now that Australia won that Test in two days and Pat Cummins, who looks like he would have played this Test match but weâve been told he wants to put in more net sessions, heâll want to get himself ready for Adelaide.
âIâm holding Cummins.â
MORRISâ XI
âI agree about the opening two. I think the circumstance now is that you just have to ride the Travis Head wave,â Morris said.
âIf it comes off once more it probably wins you another Test. If it comes off twice more it might you win you two more Test matches.
âIâm happy with Labuschagne at three and Smith at four. I like Green at five, I agree, with the view to eventually moving up to four when Smith retires.
âIâm a bit different here in that I think Webster is terribly unlucky but for me he is the replacement for Green. So my man at no.6 is Josh Inglis. Itâs a line-ball call but I think Inglis is in Australiaâs best six batters.
âIâve got Pat Cummins in there but if heâs not available Iâve got Michael Neser at eight. Neser does offer more with the bat than what Doggett does.
âIt is unlucky for Doggett but Australian cricket is littered with history of players being unlucky. Itâs a horses for courses situation.â
