“Absolute peak of his powers”: Why Aus Open champ Sinner is set up for future dominance

Jannik Sinner was simply sublime in the Australian Open men’s singles final, beating No. 2 seed Alexander Zverev 6-3, 7-6, 6-3.
The Italian dropped only two sets across the past fortnight at Melbourne Park, with the victory his third Grand Slam in the last 12 months.
While the world number one faces some uncertainty in his immediate future as he gets set to face a hearing in the Court of Arbitration for Sport in April for doping, SEN Tennis experts Brett Phillips and Mark Woodforde are certain that he’s set up for some serious future success regardless.
With victories across all of the last three hard court Grand Slams, Woodforde expects the Italian to keep dominating on his preferred surface given how well his game is set up for those conditions.
Phillips: “Jannik Sinner, this is a young man at the absolute peak of his powers, and this journey's only getting started.
“It might be interrupted, we don't know, there's a lot to play out, but in the here and now, he's a champion again.”
Woodforde: “He is, and he has been a champion for well over a year now and his dominance on the hard courts no doubt will continue because his game is set up for the hard court surface.
“Regardless of what happens later in the year, I think he's a player that will not overload his schedule.
“He's not gonna go be one that will go out and chase playing exhibitions. I think he is a player that is one that will try to take care of his body, so that when he is out playing these major tournaments - the four Grand Slams - he will tee himself up for it.”
With the doping hearing in April and a potential one-year ban ahead of him, it’s to be determined whether Sinner will be free to play in the year’s next slam which is the French Open in May.
